SALT Meeting There will be a Student Athlete Leadership Team meeting today during Channel 1 in the Multi-Purpose Room. Please be prompt.

HS SOAR Meeting HS SOAR Members - There will be a brief meeting on Tuesday, May 30th during Channel 1 in the Multi-Purpose Room. See Miss Veres if you cannot attend.

Cheerleading Anyone interested in cheerleading for the 2017-2018 school year needs to pick up an application in the high school office. Tryouts are June 7th and 8th.

Baccalaureate All students are invited to attend the baccalaureate service Wednesday, May 31 at 7:00 in the Auditeria. Seniors are especially encouraged to attend.

Kalahari Trip Jr. high students going to Kalahari on Tuesday, May 30. Remember we don't have school on Monday (Memorial Day) so you will need to remember your swimsuits, money for anything extra and McDonalds on the way home. Please remember this is a school function so dress code applies. We will be leaving the school around 9 am when band is over. We will meet down by the old cafeteria to load. Please be prompt. We will be leaving on time.

Winners Congratulations to the winners of the 1st Senior math cookout cornhole tournament - Andrew Baughman and MaKayla Rizor!

Girls Basketball There will be a meeting Tuesday at 3:15, just before open gym, for any girl interested in playing basketball next year to go over summer plans. Please plan to attend even if you do not stay for open gym.

Volleyball Camp Just a reminder, volleyball camp registration and money must be turned in to the office by end of day today.

Boys Basketball Any boys interested in playing 8th grade basketball next year are asked to sign up in the high school office today.

Elementary Announcements:

The boy’s basketball team will be hosting a skills camp for all boys entering grades 1-6 the week of June 12th.  Camp forms have been handed out to each classroom teacher.  Registration forms are due to the elementary office by Friday, June 2nd.  Extra camp forms will be available in the office.  Please contact Coach Fidler with any questions.


Any sixth grade student interested in participating in golf next year, please sign up in the office.


Coach Fidler would like to invite boys entering grades 6-12 to the Jason Otter Basketball Camp that will be held here at North Central on June 10th.  Registration forms can be picked up in the office.  This camp will be limited to the first 40 players who register.  This is an excellent opportunity for our community and basketball program!  The registration deadline is May 26th.


Northwest State Community College will again host their summer STEM Camps.  STEM camps are opened to all students entering grades 5 through 8 in the upcoming 2017-2018 school year.  The camps are full of fun hands on activities where it is all about designing, creating, building and making things better.  You will participate in activities such as 3-D printing, learning to Code, Robotics build rockets, play with holograms and magnets, take a tour of a local manufacturing plant, and more.  There are limited spots available for each camp, so make sure to pick up your STEM Camp Registration Form in the office today!

A message from the Superintendent....

Spring has arrived and we survived what proved to be a rather mild winter. Our new facility operated very well through the winter and students and staff have adapted well to the new surroundings.

The spring sports programs are in full swing. The track, softball and baseball teams are now all competing against our area schools. The athletes and coaches have all been working hard, so I would encourage the community to get out and go to a track meet, softball or baseball game.

The practices are now in process for the spring musical. This is exciting because this will be the first production in the new facility. This year’s production is “All Shook Up” and will be presented on April 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Contact the school to order your tickets for the musical. It is always a nice event.

The spring is always testing time for our students. Our staff has worked hard to get our students ready for the state achievement tests. I encourage parents to make sure your children are getting the proper amount of sleep and eating some breakfast before they come to school. These two items will help the students be physically and mentally ready to take these tests.

I will be retiring as superintendent at the end of July. I have had the privilege of serving this school district for the last eleven years. My career started in teaching in 1971 and I have spent forty-six years in education and thirty-one as superintendent in Ohio. Thank you to this community for their support of educating the kids of this school district over the years. You can be proud of the North Central Schools.
