A message from the Superintendent....

Spring has arrived and we survived what proved to be a rather mild winter. Our new facility operated very well through the winter and students and staff have adapted well to the new surroundings.

The spring sports programs are in full swing. The track, softball and baseball teams are now all competing against our area schools. The athletes and coaches have all been working hard, so I would encourage the community to get out and go to a track meet, softball or baseball game.

The practices are now in process for the spring musical. This is exciting because this will be the first production in the new facility. This year’s production is “All Shook Up” and will be presented on April 21st, 22nd and 23rd. Contact the school to order your tickets for the musical. It is always a nice event.

The spring is always testing time for our students. Our staff has worked hard to get our students ready for the state achievement tests. I encourage parents to make sure your children are getting the proper amount of sleep and eating some breakfast before they come to school. These two items will help the students be physically and mentally ready to take these tests.

I will be retiring as superintendent at the end of July. I have had the privilege of serving this school district for the last eleven years. My career started in teaching in 1971 and I have spent forty-six years in education and thirty-one as superintendent in Ohio. Thank you to this community for their support of educating the kids of this school district over the years. You can be proud of the North Central Schools.

-Ken Boyer,
